Practical help:Check how local PDF processing works
Step-by-step local merging, document ordering, and checks to make before sharing a combined PDF.
Output pages = Sum of source page countsCount the pages in each source and compare their sum with the exported result. Actual processing time and peak memory depend on the PDF objects and library operations; page count alone cannot predict them.
The current tool has no payment requirement or added watermark. Browser memory, document complexity and unsupported PDF features can limit a batch; free access does not mean unlimited processing capacity.
The merger processes selected PDF contents locally with pdf-lib and does not upload them for merging. Website and engine assets may still load over the network. Scanned-text OCR also runs locally in this release.
If a PDF file has an active user open password, you must decrypt it first using our Unlock PDF tool before combining. Reader-permission flags differ from an opening password; support still depends on the PDF structure. Use only documents you are authorized to process and check any error.
There is no universally safe batch size. Large scans, embedded resources and low-memory devices can fail even when the page count looks modest. Start with a smaller batch, preserve the originals and inspect every exported page.
